“It’s GOD DAMN time”: NFL analyst reckons Lamar Jackson needs to take the Aaron Rodgers way to remind the world who he really is
Lamar Jackson and Aaron Rodgers
Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr. is a well-known entity in the world of the NFL. The star quarterback who features for the Baltimore Ravens played college football at Louisville, where he mesmerized one and all with his astounding performances.
In fact, he won the Heisman Trophy during his sophomore year and in his rookie season itself, Lamar got a chance to become his team’s starting QB after an injury to Joe Flacco. However, there were a few question marks about Lamar’s availability for the Ravens in the coming season as he is yet to formally sign a deal.
“Remind people that you were a top 6 passer and a top 6 rusher at the same time”: Emmanuel Acho to Lamar Jackson
All these speculations did not prevent him from joining the franchise for the minicamp ahead of the 2022 NFL season but still, there is still some clarity needed about where the Ravens-Lamar relationship is going. NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho had a few things to say about the same and the criticism Lamar has been facing on the “Speak For Yourself” podcast.
He stated that it is about god damn time to remind people who you are Lamar. “First quarterback with multiple thousand yard rushing seasons, first quarterback in NFL history to close a game with 400 yards passing and 50 yards rushing, Lamar, sometimes you have to remind people who you really are,” he said.
He then quoted Aaron Rodgers’ example and said, “I think about Aaron Rodgers when Aaron said ‘my worst years are your QBs best years,’ we thought it was outlandish, but then I did some digging. Aaron Rodgers, the worst year he was referencing, he had 26 touchdowns and 4 picks, at that time Dak Prescott’s first year, he had 23 touchdowns and 4 picks.”
“That year, 23 TDs and 4 picks, Dak got an MVP vote, Aaron Rodgers with 26 TDs and 4 picks, they drafted Jordan Love to replace him. Sometimes, you got to remind people who you are Lamar. Remind people that you were simultaneously, top 6 passes and a top 6 rusher at the same time, remind people who you really are Lamar,” he stated.
Indeed, there is absolutely no doubt about the fact that Lamar is an incredible talent and is needed by the Ravens to put up a good show in the coming season. It is really time for Jackson to be blunt and clear about what he is looking for because he has done earned the right to do so.
