The Baltimore Ravens have a lot to cheer about this upcoming season. The team has their QB back after one of the longest standoffs. However, it came to an end when Lamar Jackson finally got the dream contract he was looking for.
The star quarterback signed a five-year deal worth $260 million, which makes him one of the highest-paid players in the entire NFL. This was not all; Baltimore also went out of their way to help their QB by signing one of the best wideouts, Odell Beckham Jr.
This Baltimore Ravens team has some of the most passionate players. OBJ is coming off of his Super Bowl injury, wherein he injured his Achilles tendon. The wideout, despite being one of the top players before tragedy struck, was overlooked by teams across the league as they did not wish to take a chance on him because his durability is now in question.
Considering his injury was to the Achilles tendon, the Baltimore Ravens placed a big bet when they signed him. However, while this new roster carries a lot of potential on paper, fans and analysts alike remain skeptical if it will actually pan out the way the Ravens envision it.
ESPN’s Andrew Hawkins is most certainly not one of the doubters. He believes that this season, fans will get to witness the best version of Lamar Jackson, a version that will outplay his MVP season as well. Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson’s net worth is around $110 million.

Lamar Jackson and Odell Beckham Jr. have the potential to be a menace in the NFL
He said, “I think that there was a lot put on Lamar Jackson’s shoulders and it was just normal. It was just like ‘Hey. go out there and do everything Lamar because that’s what we’ve seen you do and that’s what we expect.’ With this new offensive coordinator, they will be able to cater plays to his abilities and they gave him weapons on the outside.”
Andrew justifies Lamar Jackson’s contract and believes that he is “the highest-paid player in the NFL for a reason. I know the game isn’t played on paper, but on paper, they are as good as ANY AFC team on the market.” While Andrew’s justification makes sense, he sees Odell Beckham Jr. playing a big role in helping Lamar Jackson succeed this year.
Baltimore’s offensive weapons have come down in the past two seasons, which has put a lot of pressure on Lamar Jackson to rely more on his run game than the passing game. While the quarterback can run, it has become easier for defenses to figure him out and, as a result, sack him. While the Ravens are great, it may be a stretch to call them as good as the Kansas City Chiefs or the Cincinnati Bengals. However, one thing is certain: this year is bound to be special for Baltimore and Lamar Jackson.
