The Kansas City Chiefs had a mad-mad 2023-24 season. They were even close to missing out on the playoffs in the middle of the season. The fans were disappointed and multiple analysts wrote them off. However, like a phoenix bird, they rose from the ashes and not only secured the playoffs but also won the Super Bowl for the second consecutive time.

The Super Bowl LVIII encounter against the San Francisco 49ers had everything that a football enthusiast could have asked for. It was thrilling, and the ball rolled from one end to another in a continuous manner. The pendulum swung between the two teams from the very first moment of the game.

Apart from the thrill, it had some moments of heat as well. So much so that Andy Reid, the veteran head coach of the Chiefs, faced some harsh words from his loyal commander, Travis Kelce.

The moment took place after the Chiefs’ running back Isiah Pacheco had a fumble on the 10-yard line and Travis Kelce was unhappy with the fumble. He went straight to Reid and pushed his HC in the heat of the moment for not including him in the crucial play.

After the game, Reid addressed the issue in front of the media. The veteran never shies away from talking to the media and it was not the exception this time as well. The veteran head coach stated that Travis Kelce always keeps on pushing him.

He keeps me young--It tested that hip out. He caught me off balance. Usually, I’d give him a little bit [back], but I didn’t have any feet under me.

Andy Reid can surpass Bill Belichick’s record

Ahead of the Super Bowl clash, analyst LeSean McCoy had stated that if Reid would manage to promise another Super Bowl for the Chiefs, then he would surpass Bill Belichick’s legacy. Throughout his career, the Chiefs HC has played with different quarterbacks, something that Belichick is not familiar with.

Pointing this out, McCoy had stated:

He goes to the Chiefs, who weren’t a good team before Andy Reid got there. They instantly become a good team. So when I look at Andy Reid — and I want to preach for Andy Reid because I love him — but I’m saying, I see a great coach. I see players developing. I see him making players get better and better.

And now another feather has been added to the crown of the veteran head coach and now is the front runner in chasing the record of the former Patriots coach. In the middle of the 2023 season, there were some retirement rumors for the HC. It is to be seen whether the head coach will carry his duty on in the coming time.
