The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson are having a tough time trying to reach a middle ground in a long-term contract extension. Furthermore, many speculations are going around the league that the 26-year-old QB has played his last game for the Ravens and will seek a trade in the off-season. Amidst this crazy situation, Baltimore’s head coach John Harbaugh has added fuel to the speculations by saying he’s not allowed to comment on Lamar Jackson’s injuries.

The 5th year QB suffered a knee injury during a week 13 game between the Ravens and the Denver Broncos. At the time of the injury, Harbaugh said it wasn’t a “season-ending” injury, however, Jackson has not played in a single game since the injury and has missed 16 consecutive practice sessions. Jackson already announced that he will not play in their wildcard game against the Bengals because he feels that he won’t be able to give 100% to his team due to injury.

The former league MVP released a statement via Twitter to give an update on his recovery. In the tweet, he said that his knee is still unstable due to the suffered injuries against the Broncos. Jackson also said that he wishes he could be out there with his guys and hopes they still have a chance against their AFC North division rivals. Even after this, many people still believe that Jackson quit on the Ravens ahead of their playoffs, and now, Harbaugh’s answer to the questions about Lamar’s injury has given new heights to the speculations.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of their wildcard game, Harbaugh said that he didn’t know about Lamar Jackson’s tweet that revealed the severity of his injury. “I didn’t know anything about that,” Harbaugh said. “Haven’t paid much attention to it.”

Harbaugh then received a question about Jackson’s availability in a potential playoff game next week, and he answered by saying, “I can’t know.” Harbaugh said he’s just thinking about the game right now. “Here’s the thing. You don’t know. … That’s how injuries work,” Harbaugh said. “You get asked about injuries all the time. I’m always hopeful guys can come back quicker from an injury. I can’t know. I don’t know. What I’m thinking about right now is this game,” said Harbaugh at the press conference.

The Ravens HC also said that he can’t comment on Jackson’s injuries because he’s not allowed to. “That’s the thing, it’s not something that we can comment on,” Harbaugh said. “The nature of an injury specifically, the only one that can comment on that is the person. There’s laws around that. We’re educated by the league in terms of what we’re allowed to say and not allowed to say.” Lamar Jackson said that he suffered a Grade 2 PCL sprain on his knee, which is still unstable.

The Baltimore Ravens will start their playoff run in hopes of a Super Bowl ring on Sunday when they face the AFC North division winners Cincinnati Bengals led by Joe Burrow in the wildcard game.
