“He needs a Grammy for that one”: Adam Jones claims Antonio Brown faked an injury to get Vontaze Burfict fined and suspended for three games

Antonio Brown and Vontaze Burfict

Antonio Brown is a hard man to read, the wideout is without a shadow of a doubt a first-ballot hall of fame receiver if we just consider his stats. It turns out that he is not only a talented wideout but is also a great actor and trickster. Brown loved to win games even though he cared more about his own personal stats, however, when he was a Steeler, he once successfully pulled off a trick to ensure his team won the ballgame.

In 2016, when the Pittsburgh Steelers were playing the Cincinnati Bengals, Burfict tried to sack Antonio Brown for a potential touchdown which eventually led to Brown being hit so hard that he suffered a head injury and ended up with a concussion. Brown was never the same after that hit, but that is a whole different topic. Here is the full story on how the wideout fooled everyone on the field.

During the wildcard game between both teams, former Cincinnati Bengals player Adam Jones reveals that Antonio Brown pulled off the impossible. This trick led to the Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict being suspended by the NFL for 3 games and he was forced to forfeit nearly $500,000 in salary for this headshot on Brown. After this hit, the Bengals also got a 15-yard penalty for this hit which put the Steelers in a position of advantage.

Adam Jones claims that Burfict did not hurt Brown and that the wideout was just faking it to get him penalized and save his team. AB never confirmed nor denied this move but he did suffer a concussion post this play. This hit was also the play that changed Antonio forever as from this point onwards, he began to act strange as he does now.

The former Bengals linebacker claims that Antonio winked at him while he was being taken off the field, “I think he needs a Grammy for that one,” Jones stated. Vontaze Burfict tried to sack AB as soon as he caught the ball for a potential touchdown and this attempt to stop Brown led to a head injury. Jones asked all the fans to look at the play once more to get the story straight.

“Antonio Brown was not hurt. I know he was faking it. Go back and look at the play. If you go back in slow motion, you tell me Vontaze hit him in the head, or if his shoulder pads barely touched him,” Jones concluded. It is a little too late as the NFL has suspended Burfict for his violent style of play. There is no proof that Brown was fooling the team but who knows, it could be true.
