Back in January 2022, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown abruptly quit the team in the middle of their game against the New York Jets. And now, more than a year after the initial incident, Brown has opened up about what led to the infamous incident while bashing Tom Brady for his part in it.

Speaking in a recent episode of Tyreek Hill‘s podcast ‘It Needed To Be Said’, Antonio Brown revealed, “So, Tom called me like ‘Yo this week man the Jets man, they sweet man imma hit you with like 10 to 12’. So. He gonna gas me up so you know me that’s all I need to hear like yo you gonna throw me the ball, this is like me saying like I got a new crib like you know me, they treated me like I’m a little dog.”

The former Pro Bowl receiver also said that he wasn’t fully healthy for the game and even requested the management to sit out so that he could be ready for the playoffs but Tom Brady and the Buccaneers allegedly convinced him to play. Brown also had altercations with the then-Bucs head coach Bruce Arians throughout his stint with Tampa Bay.

Antonio Brown caught 3 passes from 5 targets during the game against the NY Jets before he decided to quit. He might’ve got the promised 12 targets from Brady if he had kept playing instead of shockingly quitting on his team before halftime.

The former Buccaneers wideout Antonio Brown is undeniably one of the most talented athletes to ever step onto the football field. However, his off-field antics and locker-room behavior might’ve ended his NFL career earlier than he would’ve wanted.

Brown has had a remarkable career in the league so far that spans over a decade. He has 7 Pro Bowl nods and 4 first-team All-Pro nods in his 12-year-long career.

He spent most of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he dominated the league, but the Steelers had to get rid of him due to the constant drama around him. After a couple of failed stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and the New England Patriots, Brown finally found his rhythm back with the Buccaneers and helped them to win a Super Bowl ring.

However, he threw it all away after quitting on Tom Brady and the Bucs in the middle of the game back in 2021. It is highly unlikely he will ever get a chance to play in the NFL again.
