Aqib Talib will “step aside” from Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” studio following deadly brawl

‘Devastated and Distraught’ were the words used by Aqib Talib’s attorney in a press release regarding the incident that happened at the Youth Football game. “Aqib Talib was present when this unfortunate incident occurred and is very distraught and devastated over this terrible loss of life,” his lawyer said. “He would like to convey his condolences to the family of the victim and to everyone who witnessed this unfortunate tragedy.”

Aqib Talib’s brother Yaqub surrendered to the police after a police warrant for arrest was out for him. Yaqub shot the coach of the Youth Football team over a dispute on the field on August 13.

Aqib Talib was part of Amazon’s ‘Thursday Night Football as an analyst. But after this horrendous tragedy, the former Rams player decided to step away from the opportunity.

The former Broncos player stated in an interview with NFL’s Ian Rapoport that he “is going to step aside from his broadcasting duties at Amazon to spend time with his family.”

Aqib Talib played in the NFL for 12 years for the Bucs, Patriots, Broncos and Rams. He won the Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos and was also a five-time Pro Bowl selection.

Talib was doing colour commentary work for Fox before being a part of the ‘Thursday Night Football’ which also included retired players like Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, Richard Sherman and the newly retired Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Aqib Talib’s brother Yaqub is facing murder charges as he is currently in LPDs custody. Aqib Talib was present during the incident and also confessed that he instigated the fight when he confronted the referees during the Youth Football game.
