“Awful throw makes for an awful record.” Justin Herbert unbelievable pick-6 stat has the world SURPRISED

Justin Herbert in action against the Chiefs

Justin Herbert and his LA Chargers were @Kansas City Chiefs where they suffered the first defeat of this season at the hands of the Patrick Mahomes-led outfit. The scores at the end of the game were 27-24 for the Chiefs in a nail-biting finish.

The unlikely hero of the game for the Chiefs was a 7th-round rookie Jaylen Watson who intercepted a pass from Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert at the goal line and returned it 99 yards for a pick-6. Herbert is still quite young and just starting out but he now has the distinction of throwing the first pick-6 in the red zone in the 4th quarter in a tie game per ESPN Stats and Info, a ridiculous stat for sure but not something Herbert will find funny like many on Twitter did.

Herbert had the LA Chargers had the scores tied with the Kansas City Chiefs in the 4th quarter at 17 all, with a chance to take the lead with the ball in Herbert’s trusty hands who threw a pass to take the lead but with it being intercepted by Watson and him running it back 99 yards for a pick-6 the Chiefs took a lead that they built on to win the game.

After the game which ESPN found out about the ridiculous record and the world decided to talk about it-

The play was unbelievable so is this stat and Herbert might be hoping that more QBs join him in this exclusive list soon or at least in this quarter century.
