The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their week 18 game against the Carolina Panthers and qualified for the playoffs. Their QB Baker Mayfield got his redemption over his former team as he led the Bucs to their fourth successive playoff appearance.
They are the only NFC team to do so. It wasn’t a pretty win as the Bucs won the game 9-0.

With the win, the Buccaneers claimed a franchise-record third consecutive division title. The biggest talking point of the game was Mayfield, who is not the frontrunner to win the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year.
Leading the Buccaneers to the playoffs, the 28-year-old finished his best season to date and earned a $1 million financial incentive. This was an unexpected accomplishment given Tampa Bay’s poorest divisional odds among all NFC South teams.
Although Mayfield did not have a spectacular game against the Panthers, he played the game through a rib injury suffered last week against the New Orleans Saints. Mayfield finished the game with 137 passing yards on 32 pass attempts for a season-low 4.3 yards per pass attempt. The Bucs finished their season with a record of 9-8.
The former first-overall pick threw for 3,907 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He completed 64.4 percent of his passes and had a rating of 95.9, which matched his career-best rating back in 2020.
Baker Mayfield talks about the Buccaneers’ crucial win over the Panthers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their final game of the regular season against the Carolina Panthers and booked their ticket for the postseason. Baker Mayfield, the Bucs’ QB, led his team to their fourth successive playoff appearance and their third consecutive division title.

The quarterback talked about the win and credited the team’s defense for the Bucs’ success.
I can't say enough about our defense--A lot of guys stepped up and made big plays on defense. Offensively we ran the ball when we needed to... But now that we're in the playoffs, we're division champs, let's hit the reset button and go from there.Mayfield said
The Bucs will play either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Dallas Cowboys in their first playoff game this season. They will hope to make some noise in the postseason and make a run for the Super Bowl. Mayfield and company have been brilliant in the regular season, but only time will tell if they can carry on in the playoffs.
