“Just own up to your mistake man” – Bart Scott ANGERED NFL fans once again, claims the media twisted his words on Tee Higgins
Bart Scott shared a tweet where he explained that his words were cut out from a larger segment but he is yet to apologize to Tee Higgins.
Bart Scott and Tee Higgins
After a tough 72 hours, the NFL world received the best news of the year as doctors over at the UC Medical Center revealed that Damar Hamlin has regained consciousness and is communicating with his family.
Damar Hamlin’s nerve-chilling collision with Bengals’ Tee Higgins caused the former to suffer a cardiac arrest and was given CPR on the field by the Buffalo Bills’ medical personnel and transported over to the hospital.
The entire world sent in their love and prayers for the safe recovery of the 24-year-old safety and also kept Tee Higgins in their prayer. Fans, critics, athletes, and everyone came to support Tee Higgins and reminded the young WR that the accident was not his fault.

Bart Scott still hasn’t apologized to Tee Higgins
With Tee Higgins receiving love and support from the entire league, former NFL linebacker turned analyst Bart Scott held the Cincinnati wideout responsible for Damar Hamlin’s condition. While in conversion with Stephen A. Smith on FirstTake, Scott said that Higgins lowered his helmet and threw his body into Hamlin to avoid being tackled. “So he didn’t expect Tee Higgins to launch his body back into him. They take it out of the game, but they don’t regulate it as much as possible. I expect the league will be a lot more vigilant in using that penalty,” Scott added.
Now, after heavy scrutiny from every corner for these comments, Bart Scott has come forward and said that the media twisted his words to gain overnight success. He particularly blamed Dov Kleiman for the misleading narrative. “There’s 2 more segments on the show where I blame no one. he’ll never post that bc it doesn’t help his narrative,” Scott said in a tweet where he shared another segment of the show.
Within this segment Bart Scott continued, “It’s tough. It’s tough to process and we have to figure out how we get these players help. We talk about Tee Higgins not leaving his mother’s arm because of feeling that guilt that maybe he’s the one who lowered the helmet. But its such a routine hit and I think the NFL has done a good job in trying to take the head out of it and this is those one in a million type of incidences that happen.”
Scott further added that the league has to think of new technologies to better protect the players at all times and prevent such incidents from happening in the future. He also reiterated that Higgins’ play was a routine one that has been carried out thousands of times, but this was a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of situation.
Fans on Twitter were further angered at Bart Scott since he didn’t apologize to Tee Higgins and, according to them, was rather covering up his own mistakes by pushing the blame on someone else.
As per recent updates, Damar Hamlin has been breathing on his own without the help of a breathing tube. He facetimed in the Buffalo Bills team meeting and had a chat with the players and staff. Everyone was elated to see Hamlin talk and wished him a speedy recovery. The Bills reported that Damar said, “Love you boys.” Surely Scott wont mind this!
