Bart Scott BIZARRELY blames Tee Higgins for Damar Hamlin’s ‘bone-chilling’ on-field cardiac arrest
Tee Higgins and Damar Hamlin
All eyes of the NFL World are at the UC Medical Center in Cincinnati where Bills safety Damar Hamlin is admitted. Hamlin had a cardiac arrest on the field during Monday night’s Bengals vs Bills game, after which he collapsed on the field. He wasn’t breathing and, according to his uncle; he was actually dead on the field before the medical team resuscitated him via CPR.
Former NFL player Bart Scott has shockingly blamed Bengals WR Tee Higgins for Hamlin’s hit. The safety collapsed on the field after tackling Higgins and it was allegedly the impact that led to his cardiac arrest. While it was obviously an accident and Higgins had no intention, Scott, speaking on First Take blamed Higgins.
He said that Higgins lowered his helmet while Hamlin was throwing his body for a tackle. If the WR couldn’t have lowered his helmet, Hamlin would’ve tackled him successfully and everything that followed could’ve been prevented. The former LB even demanded that Higgins should’ve been penalized for lowering his helmet.
“Right before the tackle, he lowers his helmet and throws his body into the chest. He’s standing up because he thinks he gotta chase Tee Higgins at an angle to make a tackle. So he didn’t expect Tee Higgins to launch his body back into him. They take it out of the game, but they don’t regulate it as much as possible. I expect the league will be a lot more vigilant in using that penalty,” Scott said.
NFL Twitter slams Bart Scott for his comments on Tee Higgins regarding Damar Hamlin
While it is true that the impact with Higgins led to Hamlin’s cardiac arrest, it is obvious that the whole scenario was a bad accident and nobody is to blame for that. Fans on social media realized this and bashed Scott for his insensitive comments about Higgins. The WR was even seen sympathizing for Hamlin and tweeted for his safe and speedy recovery.
Currently, Hamlin is still at the UC Medical Center and is being given special care. He is listed as ‘critical’ and has been resuscitated twice after being ‘actually dead’- once on the field and once at the Medical Center. His uncle has also informed media that he is currently sedated, and it seems like Hamlin’s health is ‘trending upwards’ in a positive way.
