The Dallas Cowboys have had a brilliant start to the season. They have soundly beaten both the New York-based teams en route to a 2-0 start. The Cowboys statistically have the best defense to begin the season. One huge reason for the Cowboys’ elite defense is CB Trevon Diggs. However, Diggs suffered a torn ACL during practice and has been ruled out for the entire season.
Former NFL player and current ESPN analyst Bart Scott talked about Diggs’ injury on First Take. During a recent episode of the show, Scott made fun of Diggs’ injury, saying, “This is a major, major blow for Dallas, and like Stephen A. always said, ‘Just wait, something bad always happens.’” Both his fellow panelists Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Clark immediately called out Scott for his comments.
Cowboys’ defenseman Micah Parsons blasted Scott on Twitter, calling a “hating a** old head.” Scott responded to Parsons’ tweet, defending his take on Diggs. Scott tweeted that he “Was never joking about a injury. Was speaking of bad luck & how a SB contender loses one of their most important players in there scheme.” He also called out Parsons asking him to “get out your feelings.”
Scott played in the NFL for eleven seasons. He was selected to the All-Pro second team and was a one-time Pro-Bowler. Scott played for the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets during his NFL career. After retiring, he became an NFL analyst with CBS for five years before transitioning to ESPN Radio.
Fans and Stefon Diggs react to Bart Scott’s defense of his comments
Bart Scott made some insensitive comments about Dallas Cowboys‘ CB Trevon Diggs after he suffered a season-ending injury in practice. He made fun of the injury on ESPN’s show First Take and was instantly called out by fellow panelists Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Clark. Fans slammed Scott on social media for his defense of the comments.

Scott defended his comments on Twitter, saying he was never joking about the injury and called out Cowboys’ LB Micah Parsons for his tweet. A fan replied to Scott’s tweet saying, “I #CantWait to see you get fired,” adding a clown emoji. Scott tagged a parody account of Micah Parsons, instead of his original Twitter account, and a fan let him know about it.
Trevon Diggs’ brother and Buffalo Bills’ WR Stefon Diggs also called out Scott on Twitter, asking him the purpose of his comments.
Trevon Diggs was a major part of the Dallas Cowboys’ elite defense. The injury to Diggs is a massive blow to the Cowboys who are expected to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this year. They will play the Arizona Cardinals in their next game on Sunday.
