“The defense figured them out,” Former QB Ben Roethlisberger launches brutal attack on the Steelers offense after devastating loss to the Bengals

Ben Roethlisberger is a former Steelers QB and a legend of the game. The former QB was critical of the Steelers’ performance against the Bengals that saw them lose the game 37-30.

The Steelers probably had their best first half in any game this season as their offense scored a record 20 points in the first half. The Pittsburgh-based team was the clear favorite to win the game after their performance in the first half.

However, the whole dynamics were switched in the second half and the Bengals came back with retribution and defeated the Steelers 37-30.

Steelers committed too many mistakes in the second half combined with poor execution of plays. Roethlisberger was dissatisfied with their performance as he spoke about them on a recent podcast.

“I just feel there were some ill-times plays,” the Former Steelers legend stated On Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger. “We got behind the sticks, whether it was penalties, whether it was plays, whether it was execution.”

The Steelers lack clear play-calling and it’s been their biggest problem this season. However, their QB, Kenny Pickett, was still having a good game, regardless of the outcome. The Steelers QB was also praised by Roethlisberger for his performance.

Ben Roethlisberger pointed out that the Bengals showed great coaching and tactical prowess as they figured out the Steelers’ offense after an exceptional performance from them in the first half.

From there, they incorporated counter-plays that helped break down their offense and in turn scored many points with the help of their star QB Joe Burrow.

The Steelers’ second-half performance was the contrast to their first-half brilliance. The team committed many mistakes and gave possession through tardiness that could have been prevented.

“It could have been the defense figuring it out,” Ben Roethlisberger stated. “It just didn’t feel like there was some spark in the second half”

The Steelers are currently 4th in their division and their season isn’t going according to their expectations. They will fave the Colts in their next game who were just defeated by the Eagles in a close game.
