Cincinnati Bengals mourn the untimely demise of Assistant Coach Adam Zimmer, Son of former Vikings HC Mike Zimmer

Bengals offensive analyst Adam Zimmer has passed away at 38.

The untimely passing of the Cincinnati Bengals Assistant Coach Adam Zimmer, who primarily overtook the responsibility of being the team’s offensive analyst, has left the organization in a state of mourning. Zimmer was just 38 years of age. His sister, Corri, announced the unfortunate news on social media.

Adam Zimmer was an experienced coach who had been working remotely for the Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor this season. Prior to his role with the Bengals, he spent eight years with the Minnesota Vikings. He was the son of respected NFL HC Mike Zimmer, who coached the Vikings.

The late assistant coach had served Minnesota for 8 years and he was the assistant defensive backs coach for the Bengals in 2013. The Zimmer family has devoted its life to football and Adam was following in the footsteps of his father. The cause of death has not been revealed yet.

He was found at his residence in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, on Monday after a request was made for a welfare check. The police have stated that ‘there was nothing suspicious and there didn’t appear to be any evidence of foul play.’ The Bengals released a statement expressing their heartfelt condolences to the Zimmer family.

Here’s the statement released by the Bengals, “The Bengals are saddened to learn the devastating news about team offensive analyst Adam Zimmer.” Owner Mike Brown also released the following statement, “Our organization has had the privilege of knowing and working with the Zimmer family for 15 years. We have the highest regard for Mike and Adam, and we are saddened by this tragic news. Mike and Adam were more than coaches for us, they were friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Zimmer family at this time.”

Cori Zimmer White shared an emotional post on her Instagram account. This is what she had to say: “I can’t believe I’m writing this. I lost my big brother yesterday. The kindest, sweetest, family-loving, sports-obsessed soul there ever was. I’ve felt pain like this once before but it’s been a while and I didn’t know I was able to feel like this again.”

Adam Zimmer’s sister Cori Zimmer White posted this emotional message on her Instagram.

The news of his death saddened players and coaches across the league. Vikings QB Kirk Cousins also tweeted out his condolences and expressed gratitude for the time he got to spend with him.
