“King of the North,” Bengals QB Joe Burrow makes a STUNNING Game of Thrones revelation on viral social media post
Joe Burrow spoke about his viral Instagram post in which he referred to the popular TV show, the Game of Thrones.
The Cincinnati Bengals continued their dream post-season form, as they defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL WildCard round. Joe Burrow’s side notched up a consecutive second victory over the Ravens in back-to-back weeks winning by a margin of 24-17.
Courtesy of the victory, the Bengals are well and truly on course for a second Super Bowl appearance in consecutive seasons. However, if that happens, they will hope for a change in their fortunes from last year.
After the victory against the Ravens, Joe Burrow took to his official Instagram account to post a picture of himself, one which has gone viral. More than the picture, the caption given by Burrow has garnered more attention.
Burrow posted a picture of himself with the caption, “Jon Snow.” The caption is a reference to the famous US drama fantasy series, the Game of Thrones. It is one of the best shows in modern times and has a huge fan following all over the world. And looks like Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow too is one of them.
Joe Burrow professed his love for Jon Snow’s character from Game of Thrones
The iconic character of Jon Snow, who is one of the protagonists of the show, has captivated the imagination of even Joe Burrow. He was later asked about his Instagram post during the Bengals pre-game press conference.
Burrow explained the reasoning behind such a caption saying, “King of the North, baby. I am a Game of Thrones fan. Nothing deeper than that.”
In Game of Thrones, Jon Snow was in fact the King in the north, and Burrow subtly referenced it as the Bengals finished top of the AFC North division with a 12-4 record, by trumping over the Ravens in the regular season and the playoffs.
The 26-year-old also spoke about the fact that they’d be facing the Buffalo Bills in the NFL divisional round. The fixture would be a reply to the Week-16 game, which was cut short due to the horrific injury to Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
The fixture was eventually postponed by the NFL, but it did not matter much for the Bengals in terms of qualifying for the playoffs. Burrow claimed that it would be a new game, and there’s nothing much of a note to take from the canceled encounter. The Bengals take on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night.
