Bill Belichick is a legendary QB who has won the most Super Bowls in the history of the sport. The HC was capable of doing so through his conniving attitude and tactical preparation.
During the reign of Tom Brady, the New England Patriots completely dominated football with Belichick as their HC. The HC is also regarded as one of the most tactical coaches in the league’s history.
However, after the departure of Brady, the Patriots have struggled a lot to gain momentum. Mac Jones hasn’t been able to fill the legendary QBs shoes and the team has struggled because of it.
With the division getting increasingly competitive after the arrival of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, Belichick decided to adopt some different methods to cause the opposition’s downfall. The Jets were set on drafting Georgia offensive lineman Broderick Jone. However, the Patriots HC adopted a tactical masterclass to deny them that pick.
The Patriots had the no.14 pick in the NFL draft which they decided to trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were also interested in the offensive lineman and drafted Jone at the first chance. “They should have had to give up a [third-round pick] and not a four to move up there,” an NFL general manager stated. “Belichick did it just to f— the Jets. He sold low because he knew the Steelers were going to take the kid the Jets wanted to take.”
According to reports, Bill Belichick did this just to spite the Jets and make the division less competitive. The Jets are currently one of the strongest teams and will likely challenge for the division next season.

Aaron Rodgers is considered as the greatest QB of all time and for all the right reasons. The back-to-back NFL MVP is prolific yet deadly. After his move to New York was secured, the Jets were touted as division contenders.
The AFC East is one of the toughest divisions now with many prolific teams that will be looking to challenge for the title. Bill Belichick is increasingly cautioned about the threat that the Jets possess after signing Rodgers.
It is reported that the draft masterclass by Belichick was used to ‘screw the Jets over’ and weaken them so that they can’t overpower the division. With the Jets getting better each passing day, the fight for the AFC East is on and Bill Belichick will have to pull out something extraordinary to gain a fighting chance.
