“Why don’t you guys go to the officials,” Bill Belichick hits back strictly at a reporter over Hunter Henry’s disallowed TD

“Why don’t you guys go to the officials,” Bill Belichick hits back strictly at a reporter over Hunter Henry’s disallowed TD

Bill Belichick‘s tactical prowess was insufficient to get the better of the Vikings as the Patriots lost to them 33-26. The Patriots had dominated most of the game, as they led the game on multiple occasions. Though they had a pretty bad fourth quarter that made the game go out of their hands.

However, it could all have been avoided if Hunter Henry‘s controversial TD catch was not overturned and the Patriots could have their 6 points, which would have changed the course of the whole game.

The incident happened in the third quarter when QB Mac Jones threw a 6-yard pass to Hunter Henry, who allegedly caught the ball in the end zone. Interestingly, the call was overturned by the officials as they believed Henry dropped the ball and it touched the ground.

“He was going to the ground, the ball ended up touching the ground and then he lost control of the ball in his hands.” Senior Vice President of Officiating for the NFL, Walt Anderson, stated.

Belichick was furious after this decision and felt it was unfair. When the Patriots HC was asked about the controversial decision after the game, he decided to hit back at the reporters in typical BB fashion.

“Why don’t you guys go to the officials with your pool reporter and ask them about the play?” Belichick said. “And let them explain it to you. Right? Isn’t that what you do? Thank you.”

Bill Belichick was enraged after the touchdown was overturned as it denied them 6 points that could have changed the course of the game. Instead, the Patriots had to settle with a field goal.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry also pointed out that there was nothing wrong with the catch. “I believe I caught it, but they made the call and (we’ve) just gotta live with it,” Henry said. “They said it hit the ground, but I believe my hand was under the ball. The hand was under the ball with hitting the ground. That’s what caused it to jump up. But I’ve just gotta live with it.”

The Patriots are in a precarious position as they are last in their division and it seems like Bill Belichick won’t be making a possible playoffs run. The Patriots are 6-5 in the NFL and will face the formidable Bills in their next game of the season.
