On Sunday Night Football, the Philadelphia Eagles went against the Buffalo Bills in a much-anticipated game between two of the Top 5 quarterbacks in the league. As expected, both teams put on a remarkable show on Sunday spearheaded by their quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen. However, the Eagles pass rusher Brandon Graham was a little too confident on his team, which did not sit well with NFL fans on social media.
At the end of the regulation time, scores were tied at 31-31 and the game went into overtime. The Bills won the coin toss and Gabe Davis, who represented the Buffalo-based football team, opted to receive the ball. In that moment, Brandon Graham, who represented the Eagles, made a borderline cocky comment.
It don't matter.Graham said after losing the coin toss.
Unlike wide receiver Stefon Diggs‘ early Fly Eagles Fly celebration, Graham’s confident statement didn’t backfire. Graham walked the walk after talking the talk.
In the end, it really didn’t matter as the Bills ended up failing to score a touchdown in their first drive and settled for a field goal to go up by 3 points. Graham and the Eagles defense did a massive job by holding Josh Allen’s offense to just a field goal. When the Eagles got possession of the ball in overtime, they put the game to bed since their quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for a walk-off touchdown.
As a result, the Eagles ended up winning the game 37-34 and still remain as the team with the best record in the entire league. With their hard-fought victory on SNF, the Eagles improved to 10-1 and currently hold the No.1 seed in the NFC playoffs picture.
Social media reacts to Brandon Graham’s confident statement
Fans on social media had mixed reactions to Brandon Graham’s statement during the overtime coin toss in the Eagles’ week 12 game against the Buffalo-based football team. Some people took it as a confident statement, while some others took it as an arrogant statement.
Besides, some people also joked that Graham already knew they were winning since the referees were in their favor. Check out some of the reactions attached below.
Graham escaped a lot of backlash that he would’ve received if the Eagles lost after his statement. However, since the Eagles won, he escaped the trolls. Next, the Eagles are scheduled to face the NFC powerhouse San Francisco 49ers in their week 13 matchup.
