Bruce Arians makes a surprising remark on Antonio Brown’s tenure at Buccaneers despite poor ending
Antonio Brown is definitely one of a kind. The highly rated wide receiver has had his fair share of fallouts during his career, but none have been on the pitch for the spectators to see, except for his most recent one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, former Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians seems to have forgotten the recent outburst from Antonio Brown and gave great reviews of the player when asked about him, in a recent appearance.
Antonio Brown earned heavy praise from Bruce Arians despite rocky ending to his spell at the Buccaneers
Brown had taken off his sporting gear on the pitch to protest during the Buccaneers’ NFL encounter against the New York Jets last season. He was immediately expelled from the franchise, led by active participation from Bruce Arians and Tom Brady.
Bruce Arians did not mention those incidents, but focused on the good things that Brown did for the franchise. He praised the 33-year old wide receiver for his contributions during the 2020 Super Bowl winning season for the Buccaneers.
“Great player. Great player,” Bruce Arians said on “The Cook and Joe Show”. “Practices hard and plays as hard as anybody I’ve ever coached and I wish him well.”
“He was a big part of us getting that ring,” Arians said. “The next season obviously didn’t work out as well, but he was a big, big part of us winning a championship.”
“I wasn’t there when he got his stardom, but watching him on film it was just absolutely unbelievable the rapport he and Ben had together,” Arians said. “But some guys handle it differently than others. I can speak of when he was with us, it was going great and then he was fighting through some stuff and it just didn’t work out in the end.”
