The Carolina Panthers are the worst team in the NFL this season. After 12 games, they have a record of 1-11 and are in turmoil. They fired their head coach Frank Reich and their first overall selection from this season, Bryce Young hasn’t lit the football world alight yet. The Panthers have one of the worst offensive lines in the league as they have allowed 44 sacks this season.
Fortunately for the Panthers, even after getting sacked more than 40 times, Young hasn’t suffered any major injuries. He has only missed one game this season and has started the rest of the team’s 11 games through 13 weeks. The rookie quarterback had an interesting answer when asked about him not getting injured despite the sack count.
Young told the reporters in a recent press conference:
That’s God. That’s God protecting me and, of course, people around me—that stuff, it’s outta my control. Definitely grateful to be here, to be healthy. To be able to play, it’s a blessing. I don’t lose sight of that.
Panthers’ 44 sacks allowed is the second most in the NFL with the Washington Commanders topping that list.
The Panthers have already lost multiple offensive linemen to injuries this season and that has contributed to their struggles protecting their QB. They will play their next game against the New Orleans Saints this Sunday.
Fans have fun with Bryce Young’s recent statement of ‘God’ protecting him from injuries
The Carolina Panthers’ rookie QB Bryce Young has been sacked 44 times this season. The team’s offensive line has been one of the worst in the league and, with multiple injuries to the linemen, it hasn’t functioned properly at all throughout the season. Young, fortunately, hasn’t been injured yet and recently claimed that ‘God’ is protecting him from above.
The fans on social media though, decided to have some fun and hilariously took Young’s answer out of context. One fan claimed, “I’m glad God is, because that offensive line isn’t.” Some of the comments were truly hilarious. Here are some of the reactions to Young’s comments.
Young and the Panthers have lost their last five games and are 1-11 through 12 games of the season. They are by far the worst team in the league this season and Young has struggled to put up good performances behind a shoddy O-Line. They will hope to get a win in their next game against the New Orleans Saints.
