The Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers DT Warren Sapp explains why he believes that controversial wide receiver Antonio Brown might not have Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Antonio Brown previously made an outrageous claim that the former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison is the reason for Brown having CTE.
During the first week of February, the former first-team All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown went live on his social media account, where he made the outrageous and baseless accusation. “I wanted to tell you guys that I think James Harrison gave me CTE,” Brown said on IG Live. “James Harrison had an illegal helmet for over 20 years in the NFL. And he hit me one time. And ever since he hit me I’ve been super aggressive. So blame James Harrison for my CTE.”
Firstly, the outside linebacker James Harrison only played for 16 seasons in the NFL. Furthermore, there is no technology that exists right now, that can confirm a person having CTE when they’re live since the brain condition, which is linked with repeated blows to the head, can only be confirmed after a person’s death. So, Brown might have the brian condition but it can’t be confirmed while he’s alive.
And now, amidst this crazy situation, the former Buccaneers’ defensive tackle Warren Sapp has now interestingly dismissed Brown’s statement during his recent interview with DJ Vlad.
Buccaneers DT Warren Sapp gives his two cents about the WR Antonio Brown
The Buccaneers legend Warren Sapp was flabbergasted by the talented yet problematic wide receiver Antonio Brown’s claims of having a CTE. Moreover, he dismissed Brown’s claims by saying it might be just an imbalance problem.
“Of the 376 brains that they’ve looked at 345 have CTE. You know, these 376 brains they looked at, none of them are alive,” said the former Super Bowl Champion in a recent interview on Vlad TV. “There hasn’t been someone alive diagnosed with chromo… CTE.”
According to Sapp, there’s scientifically no way Brown could walk around with that brain condition. “When you talk about science son, there’s no way for you (Brown) to be walking around with CTE,” Sapp said. “You might have an imbalance problem that requires a pill in the morning.”
Even though there’s no technology exists that can be used to find CTE in a person who is not dead, that does not mean that a living person cannot have that brain condition. So, the former Buccaneers WR Brown can’t know whether he has CTE or not but there’s a possibility of him having it now due to his history of having multiple head injuries.
