“He’s so bad!” – Browns kicker Cade York’s brat-like statement of not wanting ‘pity’ after missing the game-winning kick against the Chiefs doesn’t sit well with Cleveland fans

The placekicker of the Cleaveland Browns, Cade York, has been slammed brutally after missing two consecutive field goal attempts in two consecutive pre-season games. His kick was actually blocked. However, the 22-year-old did not want to give any excuse and took the responsibility on his shoulder for missing the goal.
In his interaction with the Akron Beacon Journal, the quarterback said that he hates the nature of people who pat on the back after a bad game or a few bad mistakes. Precisely, he hates pity.
“Pity pi*ses me off. I want to be a weapon. I know how good I am. That’s been the most frustrating thing the last month, struggling with that. So, the real games starts soon. Just trying to take a running start into the season and just start putting them through all the time,” he further added.
York was also subjected to an injury in the same game. He was hit on his follow-through and injured his shin. However, he made it clear later that the injury was minor and it won’t be affecting his plans ahead of the coming NFL season.
“No, it ended up being fine. I got rolled up on. I think I was just scared when it happened more than how bad it really hurt. Ended up being lucky that it didn’t get worse, but it was all good. I ended up just kicking through it,” York further added.
Twitter went viral after Cade York’s remark

Right after York passed his remark on his crucial goal miss, Twitter went crazy with trolls and banters. Fans and spectators hammered him with their sarcastic remarks. They even started questioning his ability ahead of the upcoming season. Some also wanted him to leave the team.
“He gotta go,” a fan wrote, expressing his dissatisfaction over his performance in the pre-season games.
“He’s been terrible this preseason. His kick was block because he kicked it too low, and missed a XP (that was nullified by a penalty). He missed three game winning FG’s this preseason,” another fan analyzed and criticized York’s performance.
However, the Browns have to rely on him in this season for their success. Last season, he was pivotal in making an impact on the field. He converted four goal attempts and one of them included a 58-yard bullseye. He scored the goal against the Carolina Panthers when 13 seconds were left in the game.
The Cleveland Browns will start their 2023 NFL season campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals on 10 September 2023.
