Martavis Bryant is currently showcasing his skills with the Las Vegas Vipers of the XFL. However, there was a time when he did the same with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although, due to the strict rules during that time, the WR had to be suspended.

Bryant was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for the use of marijuana. The former NFL WR wasn’t able to pass multiple drug tests resulting in him getting suspended from the league indefinitely.

Steelers DT Cam Heyward recently started awareness for the league to reinstate the WR and get him back to the NFL. The rules of marijuana use have extensively changed in recent times and Heyward wants the league to take notice of that.

“You look at guys like Martavis Bryant, and you look at Josh Gordon, and you see that the rules of the NFL have changed,” Cam Heyward stated on his podcast. “If those things had changed before, those guys wouldn’t be out of the league. Those guys can play in the NFL. They’ve proven that. Let’s see if they can continue to do it, and they work their way back up.”

Heyward also shed some light on Josh Gordon’s situation, who was a Pro Bowl WR when playing with the Cleveland Browns. Gordon is also currently playing in the XFL with the Seattle Dragons. The XFL has been a great place for castaway NFL players, and the league promoted by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has suddenly caught steam.

Cam Heyward believes Martavis Bryant deserves another shot in the NFL

The NFL is strongly urged by Cam Heyward to take another look at Martavis Bryant‘s situation. The WR can be instrumental for any NFL team and is apparently wasting his talents in the XFL.

Heyward also called out the lenient league policies currently and believes that Bryant wouldn’t have been suspended in current times. This gives the league all the more reason to take a look at the WR’s situation and reinstate him.

Martavis Bryant received an indefinite suspension in 2018 and has since been playing in the XFL. However, Cam Heyward’s word will only work if the league decides to reinstate the WR in due time and lets go of all the fallacies of the past. The NFL has been going through some widespread changes, and the Steelers DT wants to take advantage of that and reinstate some deserving players.
