“My heart was SHOCKED back into rhythm,” Cardinals DE JJ Watt reveals EMOTIONAL story about playing with disastrous heart condition
The Arizona Cardinals welcomed their star defensive end JJ Watt back into the roster for their NFL clash against the Carolina Panthers and it required a Herculean task to do so. The 33-year-old gave an emotional recount of what he had gone through before playing the match.
JJ Watt had earlier revealed how his heart needed to be shocked back into rhythm before he took the pitch against the Panthers in Week 4. Watt said that his heart had gone into atrial fibrillation, a condition in which the heart has irregular beat often leading to blood clots for an individual.

JJ Watt made a shocking revelation about his heart condition
The veteran defensive end said that it was only after consulting numerous cardiologists that he decided to play against the Panthers and there was nothing much he could actually do to improve his heart condition. JJ Watt was extremely emotional during the press conference after their 26-16 win against the Panthers and this won hearts all over the internet.
“I talked to cardiologists and electrophysiologists from all over the country. I was assured multiple times from multiple people that there was nothing else you could do.”
“I could play like normal and something could happen the next day or never again in 20 years. So I was assured, and I went back to practice on Friday and here we are,” JJ Watt said according to Fox Sports. “Obviously it’s been a very emotional week for me and my family — for my wife and for myself.”
