Marion Sylvester Barber III made a name for himself in the world of the NFL. The talented running back played at the highest level for as many as 7 seasons. He started off by impressing one when he played at the college level for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

As expected, he was roped in by the Dallas Cowboys back in 2005. After staying with the Dallas-based franchise till 2010, he went on to play a solitary season for the Chicago Bears.

“Heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III”: Dallas Cowboys

The NFL world was recently left shell shocked when he was found dead in his apartment last month by Frisco Police. As reported by USAToday, autopsy revealed that the cause of his untimely demise was heat stroke. His death has been ruled as accident.

Reportedly, Police was called at the scene by another tenant who reported that water was leaking from the former footballer’s unit. The Cowboys had released a statement after Marion death stating, “we are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III.”

Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win on every down,” the statement further read. There were a lot of question marks after Marion’s body was recovered as he was known for working out in sauna-like conditions.

This indeed was a massive loss. Football ran in Marion’s blood. His younger brother Dominique Barber played for Houston Texans, Thomas Barber featured for Minnesota Golden Gophers and his father, Marion Barber Jr was a running back who played for the New York Jets.
