Ever since the Dallas Cowboys traded for Trey Lance last week, people have been questioning Dak Prescott’s future with the team. Many people believe the upcoming season is the last chance for Prescott to solidify his position as the starting QB of America’s Team. Amidst this, now would be a good time to recap what CeeDee Lamb said about Dak last month.

During an interview with 105.3 The Fan last month, the Cowboys’ star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb revealed that HC Mike McCarthy has now given QB Dak Prescott full command over Dallas’ offense.

“All the offense is in Dak’s hands now. It’s not necessarily being called from Mike or Kel since last year. It’s all on Dak. However he’s feeling versus the coverage, if he likes the matchup, we’re gonna call that play,” said Lamb.

Lamb’s claims became evident when the Cowboys gave play-calling duty to the 2-time Pro Bowl QB Prescott during their preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Prescott’s play calling got a lot of positive responses from many people since the Cowboys torched the Raiders in the game with their third-string QB passing for over 300 yards.

There were a lot of talks about Dak’s future in the league since he’s coming off of a 15-interception campaign. And the Cowboys adding the former 3rd overall pick Trey Lance to their squad has fueled the fire to those talks.

The Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is seemingly entering a do-or-die season in 2023. He now has a strong roster around him to win the league and if he can’t the Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones will likely move on from Prescott in 2024.

Jones has added multiple talents in the off-season. He has roped in the veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks and the veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore to boost his offense and defense.

On top of that, Jones also addressed the defensive line and running back needs in the 2023 NFL Draft. Now, Prescott has one of the strongest rosters in the entire league and is looking to win his first Super Bowl ring.

If he fails to do so, the Cowboys might move on from him and could star Trey Lance in 2024. Lance would be eagerly waiting for a second chance in the league and when the opportunity arises, he would not want to miss it.

Anyhow, the Cowboys’ 2023 campaign will start with a tough road game against their NFC East division rivals New York Giants. Securing a victory over their division rivals will be a good start for the Cowboys’ Super Bowl quest.
