CFP National Championship: Where and how to watch Michigan Wolverines vs. Washington Huskies, live stream, and broadcast details
Find out all the information about the Michigan Wolverines-Washington Huskies championship game on Monday.
The biggest game of the college football this season will take place next Monday, when the Michigan Wolverines will lock horns with the Washington Huskies at the NRG Stadium in Houston.
These were the two best teams in college football this year as they were the top two seeds and hold unbeaten records. Both Michigan and Washington are 14-0 this season.
The Wolverines had a terrific season. Although they were involved in a sign-stealing scandal during the regular season, the team’s on field performance never diminished. The team’s HC Jim Harbaugh was banned for their last three regular season games, and yet the Wolverines remained unbeaten and played some amazing football.
They played their semifinal game against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl. It wasn’t a straightforward win for Michigan as they were made to sweat for every point. However, their vaunted defense wrecked havoc and Alabama’s offense had limited answers for it. They eventually won the game, 27-20 and qualified for the championship game.
Washington on the other hand, had a similar season. They have been unbeaten throughout the campaign and have delivered some stunning performances. Their semifinal win came against the Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl.
It was another close contest which was dominated by offense. The Huskies won the game 37-31 on the back of a solid 430 yards and two touchdowns from the team’s QB Michael Penix Jr.
These two teams have played each other 14 times prior to their encounter next Monday. The Wolverines are 5-5 against the Huskies and are 2-2 against them in neutral sites in their last 10 matchups. Michigan took the honors in a one-sided affair in their last matchup against Washington back in 2021. They won the game 31-10. These two teams are set to meet each other again in early October 2024.

Running back Blake Corum scored a 17-yard touchdown on the second play of overtime. After throwing for just one touchdown in his previous five games, McCarthy finished with three touchdowns and more than 150 passing yards (221) for the first time in his career.
With his most recent score, Corum now leads the country in touchdowns scored with 25, having scored at least once in each of the 14 games this season.
In addition, the senior’s 56th career rushing touchdown moved him up to the top of the school record books, surpassing Anthony Thomas. When Corum caught a touchdown pass in the Rose Bowl, it became his sixth straight game in which he scored two touchdowns in the end zone.
Why the Washington Huskies can win?
Washington’s winning run now stands at 21 games after their win against the Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl. If they defeat the Wolverines, they will have tied the second-longest run in school history. Since 1973, the Huskies have won 10 straight games with margins of victory of 10 points or less, making it the longest winning streak in Division I.
Against Texas, Michael Penix Jr. passed for 430 yards, which ranks fourth-highest in the ten-year history of the CFP. After adding two more touchdown passes to his season total of 35, Penix—the 2023 Heisman Trophy runner-up—tied Jordan McCloud of James Madison for third place in the country. With 4,648 passing yards, the senior quarterback leads the country in this category.
