The former Las Vegas Raiders DE Chandler Jones is once again making headlines for strange reasons. Jones — who was arrested twice in the last few months — is now making a ridiculous claim that Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is not a real thing.
During a recent episode of the Jaxxon podcast hosted by the former UFC Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Jones made an appearance and discussed a lot of things, including the brain problem, which is linked to repeated head injuries and blows.
CTE is not real. I don't believe it's real... the T in "trauma" could be from being mol**ted as a kid, from things that you went through in high school, and that can be trauma - mental trauma, emotional trauma, but not 'blunt-force-got-punched-in-the-head' trauma.Chandler Jones via the Jaxxon podcast
So, after initially claiming that CTE isn’t real, he then went on to insinuate that he just doesn’t believe that the brain problem is caused by playing the physical game of football. According to a 2023 report from Boston University, their researchers found CTE in 345 former NFL players among 376 NFL players studied (91.7 percent).
For comparison, a 2018 study done by the same university examined 164 brains of men and women and found CTE in only 1 person (0.6 percent), who just happened to be a former college football player. So, it’s clear that football comes with a risk of a dangerous brain problem.
However, with the technology doctors have right now, they can only diagnose a dead person with CTE and not an alive person.
Chandler Jones’ bizarre reasoning for exposing genitals on social media
During his recent appearance on the Jaxxon podcast, the show host Rampage Jackson confronted Chandler Jones about the infamous incident when the former Raiders defender exposed his genitals.
Jones admitted that the video was not an accident and was completely on purpose. The former 2-time All-Pro pass rusher further said he did that to get attention from women.
There was a part of me that was on Instagram, and I felt like I was that percentile, saying, 'hey, I need attention.' I posted my genitals online because I wanted attention. I wanted the girls to see my big di**.Chandler Jones said
Jones shared a lot of ‘interesting’ things in the podcast, including stuff like how he is going to start a podcast with another controversial former NFL player, Antonio Brown.
According to Jones, he and Brown are going to try to prove that CTE is not real. He did not give a specific timeline for the release of the podcast.
