The LSU Tigers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 on Sunday to win the women’s basketball national championship. This marks the school’s first women’s basketball national championship.

Tigers guard Alexis Morris was absolutely brilliant for her team and lead from the front. The energetic young lady recorded 21 points and nine assists to pave the way to victory. Although teammate Angel Reese won Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament, Alexis Morris was exceptional in the final.

Post the game Alexis Morris posted a picture smoking a cigar as a tribute to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow who won the school’s last national championship in 2020 when they defeated Clemson.

Tigers guard Alexis Morris smoked a cigar in style similar to that of Joe Burrow when he was seen sporting one back in 2020. “Channeling my inner (Burrow) after getting this NATTYYYYY”, Alexis Morris wrote on Instagram.

Morris first posted a picture of her smoking a cigar and then in the next slide Joe Burrow’s famous cigar smoking picture in the locker room. Morris’s Instagram post has already garnered close to 55k likes (at the time of writing) and counting and she has received the love and support from many.

Recently the First Lady of the United States of America, Jill Biden had said that she will be inviting the losing team to the White House which is contrary to tradition as it is generally the winning team who gets the invitation.

“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come,” Jill said on Monday. “But, you know, I’m going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come, too, because they played such a good game.”

To this Alexis Morris replied by saying she would like to be invited to Michelle Obama’s house instead!

Michelle OBAMA can we (LSU NATIONAL CHAMPS) come celebrate our win at your house?,” Morris said in a tweet. “Mrs. Obama made sure we had healthy snacks when I was in middle school, I still eat BAKED HOT CHEETOS ! Come on auntie Michelle,” she said.
