The Tyreek Hill to Miami Dolphins trade created a lot of buzz in the football world. It wasn’t supposed to go down like this. Hill was supposed to be a Kansas City Chief for life. But it did happen, and now Hill and the Dolphins will take on the Chiefs in Germany. Hill and the Chiefs won a Super Bowl together, and it looked like the speedy wideout would finish his career in Kansas City.

Hill opened up about leaving the Chiefs for the Dolphins in a recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast. Hill said

My agent was trying to bait KC into giving me a contract. The idea was to never leave, you know, KC. Het get on the phone with (GM) Brett Veach and he's like, 'Veach look, we're gonna be forced to ask for a trade if you don't get Tyreek a contract.

Chiefs’ CEO Clark Hunt talked about trading Hill and claimed that the trade worked out well for both parties.

I think that was a trade that worked out well for both parties. Obviously, Tyreek is an incredible player and has done very well in his time with the Dolphins. I think this year we are seeing that it did indeed work out well.

Hill has been a great fit for the Dolphins and the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year without him. So it does look like it worked out for both teams.

Hill set the Dolphins’ franchise record for receptions (119) and receiving yards (1,710) in his first season with the team. The 29-year-old was named and selected for the first-team All-Pro. Hill has had a phenomenal start to this season as well, as he has already surpassed the 1,000 receiving yards mark and is on pace to shatter the NFL’s all-time record.

Tyreek Hill might call it quits if the Dolphins don’t bring him back

Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins look like a natural fit. The fastest wide receiver on the planet and the most dynamic offense in the league working together is a beautiful sight. However, if the Dolphins don’t bring him back in the future, the 29-year-old speedster might end up retiring from the NFL.

If I'm not being brought back to Miami, I'm not gonna go all the way to the East Coast or the West Coast and like get ran to death in practice. I already know how to practice, I already know how to set the standard. So, if I'm not being brought back to Miami with this team here, it may be over with.
Hill said on the I Am Athlete podcast

Hill so far has been off the charts for the Miami-based team. After a stellar 2022 season, the speedy receiver started the 2023 season with a bang. Through eight weeks of the season, Hill has already surpassed 1,000 receiving yards at an average of 16.6 yards per reception. It will be in the Dolphins’ best interest to keep this man for as long as possible.
