Who turns down Taylor Swift? Apparently, Chris Jones did when he was invited to a dinner with the pop icon. But the Kansas City Chiefs star defensive tackle claimed that he wanted to but couldn’t.
In a recent segment of The Rich Eisen Show, the host asked Jones if he had met with Taylor Swift. Jones revealed that the chance did arrive in the form of a dinner after the Chicago Bears game, in which the 12-time Grammy winner first appeared on the Arrowhead stands. However, he was too tired to join the rest of the invitees.
The first time she came, she invited us to dinner. But I was so tired, and it was like my second game back, and I was like, 'I am exhausted. You know. I went home and went to bed.
Eisen appeared to be shocked to hear that someone actually turned down the chance to meet Swift. But Jones corrected him again, saying that he was “exhausted.” Now that the ‘cruel summer‘ songstress is full-time affiliated with Travis Kelce, he would have more chances to meet her.
Chris Jones loves listening to Taylor Swift’s songs
Apart from his constant efforts for damage control, Jones was also asked whether he listens to Taylor Swift’s songs. The 29-year-old quickly replied that he is a “Swiftie” too.
I have been listening to this song. Ahh! Hey, it's me [mumbles and tries to recall the words of the song]. I am the one that.Jones said, sounding as if he was trying to sing ‘Anti Hero.’
“Karma is the guy on Chiefs. You can just say Karma from now on,” Eisen added. Jones replied that he had seen it. “Things were heating up between the two, huh?”
During the Argentina leg of the ERAS Tour, Swift sang the tweaked version of ‘Karma.’ She dedicated the song to her beau, Kelce, as the venue went berserk. The Chiefs star tight end was watching her perform beside her dad, Scott Swift.
Just as Taylor had kept her promise of attending Kansas games in the NFL, Kelce flew more than 5,000 miles to Buenos Aires to witness her grandeur. He returned to the US as he and the Chiefs prepared to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. It will be the replay of last season’s Super Bowl.
