The ‘game manager’ reaction of Cam Newton is gaining a lot of attention. So much so that the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid took the opportunity and opened up regarding the controversy.

Ahead of the game against the Niners, Reid showed respect to the player. He said that Purdy is a “heck” of a player who could deliver anytime he wants. His respect towards the quarterback reflected the cautious mentality his team has ahead of the final frontier.

Reid told the media:

He’s a heck of a player. I specifically remember one Saturday afternoon watching him in college and I remember the head coach saying 'this guy has changed our program', changing a program is big and that’s what he is. I mean he’s doing that in the National Football League and last week he did as much with his legs as he did with his arm. He’s a good football player, he’s smart and has a great feel for things.

The veteran head coach knows that his defense will have a mammoth task against the 49ers offense. The Chiefs defense has done a fabulous job throughout the season. They have kept the big names silent in most of the important games. But the final game against the Niners will be different as the team from San Francisco has come up with a lot of clutch performances. Despite trailing by a hefty margin of 24-7 in halftime against the Detroit Lions, they managed to secure a comeback with a brilliant second-half performance.

The Chiefs have already suffered a setback

The Kansas City Chiefs already suffered a setback as the team’s Defensive End (DE) Charles Omenihu suffered a torn ACL that ended his journey for the season. Although he had only one game left, it would certainly cost him dearly in the offseason.

Announcing his injury, the DE wrote on X:

Thank you all for the support. God makes no mistakes. We were all a witness to my adversity earlier this year, and I came back better than ever. I promise it will be no different this time. Football, 90 will see you again till then much love to everyone and God bless.

Without the service of the DE, the Niners will start probably as the favourite against the Chiefs. The offense will certainly have an advantage.
