Clyde Edwards-Helaire is currently employed by the Kansas City Chiefs and plays as their RB. Edwards was drafted by the Chiefs in the NFL 2020 draft as their first-round pick.
The LSU graduate had an exceptional rookie season. However, since then, his form has faltered and his performance has started to deteriorate consistently. Edwards’s first season with the Chiefs was the best one. The Chiefs RB rushed for 803 yards while scoring four touchdowns. The season after that, he rushed for another 500 yards.
However, calamity struck for the rookie RB during the 2022 season when he started just 6 games and rushed for 302 yards while scoring three touchdowns in the entire season. Edwards was absent from the Chiefs’ games because his position was filled by another rookie RB Isiah Pacheco who’s been a revelation for the Chiefs.
New reports from Kansas suggest that the Chiefs won’t exercise the 5th year option for Edwards and will let the RB run down his contract that lasts for one more year. If Edwards can pull off a miracle in the next season, then he will be able to keep his place in the squad.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire skipped the Chiefs victory parade over a New York fashion show
The Chiefs and Clyde Edwards-Helaire are in a delicate position and things don’t look sound between them. The RB’s consistent deteriorating form and his escapade to the New York Fashion Show have put many Chiefs fans and teams against him.
The Chiefs were victorious against the Eagles in the nail-biting Super Bowl LVII. The city of Kansas turned red as everyone took to celebrate the win. However, Edwards was missed throughout the parade for a peculiar reason.
Edwards got the great opportunity to walk for the brand Daniels Leather during the New York Fashion Week. The Chiefs RB met the founder of the company, who offered him a spot on the show and helped him make his fashion debut.
With no new contract in sight for Edwards-Helaire, the Chiefs RB might try his luck in fashion or try to prove his worth to his team and fight for the spot in the team. The future is uncertain for the young RB and only the new season will entail what’s in store for him.
