When a rookie enters into a professional league, it always helps to get some key words of advice from a veteran. In the NFL, the best thing to happen for any rookie quarterback would be to get an opportunity to meet Tom Brady and pick his brains before their NFL debut.

C.J. Stroud got an opportunity to meet Tom Brady along with other quarterbacks from his class before the beginning of the NFL season, for more context, you can refer to our earlier Coverage here. This opportunity meant a great deal to him and the QB addressed the significance of this meeting on his most recent appearance on the Let’s Go podcast with Tom Brady.

Personally, it was like a cheat code to not only be an NFL quarterback but to be a professional person and a real man. When you walk in that locker room as a rookie you have some people who look at you with confidence and you don't so you really have to build that.

Stroud goes on to add that this meet with Tom Brady did a lot for his confidence levels. It greatly benefitted him:

It instilled a lot of confidence in me and telling me like I can do this one thing that he did preach that was the NFL seasons is long so we got to keep going.

Tom Brady made Stroud understand that it is a marathon and not a sprint, the best way is to take it game-by-game in the NFL.

C.J. Stroud has been having a great rookie year, he recently set the record for most yards and TDs thrown by a rook when he threw for 470 yards and had five touchdowns. He is a lock to win the offensive rookie of the year honors and he has also managed to sneak into the conversation to win the MVP award this season.

Despite having achieved this much, it is just the beginning for C.J. Stroud, the rook went on to say:

"For me, it's just the beginning and I'm really excited and I just want to keep working and keep proving people wrong and prove myself right."

That is a great approach and his response lit up Tom Brady’s face because he of all people knows that this mindset is bound to deliver success.
