Clowney finished with nine sacks and two forced fumbles for the Browns last season. Browns, Clowney became one half of a formidable edge-rushing duo with Myles Garrett recording nine sacks, 37 tackles (11 for loss) and two forced fumbles in 14 games.

According to various sources, it was Clowney who had recommended the Browns to go after the signing of troubled quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The duo partnered a long time back for the Houston Texans, who drafted Clowney as their No.1 overall pick during the 2014 NFL draft. According to Brad Stainbrook, the news correspondent for the Browns, claimed that Jadeveon Clowney’s arrival at the franchise might all but close the Baker Mayfield situation once and for all.

However, there has been no evidence of this being the case, since the defensive end played with Mayfield last season and seemed to gel extremely well on the pitch.
