Prior to the tragedy that unfolded in Kansas City by the end of the Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday, Clyde Edwards-Helaire appeared to give the warmest welcome to quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, as he was spotted hugging Brittany with immense excitement.
The entire team of the Kansas City Chiefs gathered in Kansas City to celebrate their second consecutive Super Bowl victory with their fans, who lined up on the street for the victory parade. One footage from the grand celebration recently appeared on the internet, which seemed to have caused a stir amongst the Chiefs fans.
In the viral clip, Mahomes’ wife can be seen running with her arms outstretched, towards Edwards-Helaire right after she spotted him while getting out of the van. The running back reciprocated her emotions as well embraced her with a hug and then the two goofed around arms-in-arms.
Although there was nothing sinister about their joyful moment, fans didn’t seem to agree. They argued Mahomes, who led his team to win their third Super Bowl ring in five years, wouldn’t appreciate such behavior from his teammates toward the mother of his kids.

Ever since the clip of Brittany and Edwards-Helaire embracing each other at the victory parade surfaced on the internet, the Chiefs fans accused the running back of being too intimate with Mahomes’ wife. Some even compared them with Usher and Swizz Beatz’s wife Alicia Keys’ intimate moment on stage during the halftime show at Super Bowl LVIII.
Fans did feel uncomfortable seeing Edwards-Helaire hugging and lifting his quarterback’s wife and speculated Mahomes wouldn’t like it either. One fan wrote, “Oh he about to be traded to the Panthers or something after that one,” suggesting that Brittany has endangered Edwards-Helaire’s future with the Chiefs as the first thing Mahomes would do is cut him off the roster. Some fans even speculated that Mahomes wouldn’t mind as he appeared “that kind” of husband. Nevertheless, all is well in the Mahomes family.
