Renowned NFL analyst Colin Cowherd‘s hot takes have hit a new low. The Fox Sports personality regularly does a list that ranks athletes in different categories. In that trend, Cowherd made a new list of 20 quarterbacks (drafted since 2013) who can’t win a Super Bowl in their career. Colin Cowherd crossed a line by putting Dwayne Haskins, who tragically died in an accident 16 months ago on that list.
On Tuesday’s episode of the Fox Sports show The Herd, show host Colin Cowherd revealed his list of 20 quarterbacks who can’t win a Super Bowl. The graphics had several mistakes. It said “QBs who can win a Super Bowl” which was verbally corrected by Cowherd, but the other mistake was the analyst putting Haskins on that list 16 months after his death.
Cowherd seemingly realized his mistake after reading out Haskins’ out loud name from the list. “Teddy Bridgewater, Dwayne Haskins…. guys that are just not…” the host stuttered just before taking a long pause, seemingly realizing the blunder. But he only went on to correct the graphics mistake. “It says can win Super Bowls, it’s can’t. Can’t win Super Bowls.”
Nonetheless, the producers have caught on his mistake and have removed the segment from the show. The list was so confusing since it had some names who haven’t taken a snap in the NFL in a long time, including Paxton Lynch, EJ Manuel, and Johnny Manziel.
Besides, Colin Cowherd also had some interesting names like Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett, Daniel Jones, and Trey Lance, who are all in a good system and certainly have a shot at winning the Super Bowl. However, Dwayne Haskins’ presence on this list has led to Cowherd receiving a massive backlash on social media.
Dwayne Haskins died in an accident back in April 2022
The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the league before he tragically died in an accident back on April 9, 2022.
Haskins, who was with the Steelers at the time was fatally struck by a truck while trying to cross a highway in Southern Florida. 11 months after the accident, Haskins’ parents filed a lawsuit alleging that he was drugged, blackmailed, and robbed before the incident which led to him getting struck by a dump truck.
A highly-touted quarterback out of Ohio State, Haskins was drafted by the Washington Commanders as the 15th overall pick in the 2019 draft. He played two seasons with the Commanders before signing with the Steelers back in 2021.
