The former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Deion Sanders has been leading a revolution in college football ever since he accepted the head coaching gig of the Colorado Buffaloes. He has led the Buffaloes to a 3-game winning streak and remains undefeated in the 2023 college football season.
Amidst this, a recent report has revealed the University of Colorado has been raking in the bank ever since Sanders took over as the head coach of the Buffaloes. According to Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado, CU has earned an estimated $90.5 million in advertisement revenue since the 2023 season started. That is 90 million dollars in just 3 regular season games.
There was already a visible change in fan attendance in the Colorado games compared to the previous season when they registered just 1 victory in the entire season. This estimated $90.5 million revenue is just from advertisements, so the University is definitely making serious money in ticket sales and merchandise sales.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders signed a 5-year contract with the Colorado Buffaloes worth nearly $30 million. As a result, Colorado is winning both on the field and off the field. Colorado is getting more air time on national television than they have ever had in the last few decades. They are gaining fame, and money and are securing victories under Sanders.
Deion Sanders and Colorado’s win streak on the line
The legendary cornerback Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are off to a dream start in the 2023 college football season. Experts predicted a 4-win season for the Buffaloes in 2023 but they already have three victories through the first 3 weeks of the season.
The Buffaloes, under their star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, are undefeated so far and are on a 3-game winning streak. However, they will be facing a really tough opponent in their next game.
No.19 Colorado is scheduled to face the No.10 Oregon Ducks in their week 4 game on Saturday. Both teams are undefeated so far in this season and look to keep their winning streak.
Colorado will be playing without their star two-way player Travis Hunter, who has been ruled out for at least 3 weeks due to a lacerated kidney from their previous game.
Facing the No.10 Ducks without one of the leaders will be a real test for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes. However, their QB Shedeur Sanders has had a great season so far and if he can have a good game on Saturday, Colorado can cause the biggest upset of this ongoing college football season.
