“I’m not trying to compare myself with anyone,” Cooper Kupp makes his intentions clear on an improved contract with the Rams

Cooper Kupp had one of the best seasons a wide receiver can have in 2021, as he helped the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl. The 28-year old showed why he’s one of the best in the league and even earned himself the Super Bowl MVP award.
However, despite his importance to the Rams, Cooper Kupp is not willing to shake up the wide receiver market even further this season, especially after the start of the 2022 offseason saw.
Cooper Kupp is happy to stay on with the Los Angeles Rams at his current contract
The NFL teams traded in wide receivers and it meant the likes of Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs and the others earned huge contracts at their new franchise.
Although Cooper Kupp is excited to see his mates bag such gigantic contracts, he will not follow that path and claims he is happy with salaries of 14.5 million in 2022 and $14.25 million next season. Kupp said that he’s happy to stay on with the Rams and that he’s not trying to compete with anyone but himself in monetary terms.
“I don’t think that’s really kind of the approach that I take,” he said while speaking at the Rams’ press conference. “I definitely think there’s a place you want to be. There’s a place that you feel is fair. A place for me and for this organization. … I’m not trying to beat anybody. I’m not trying to compare myself to anyone else. It’s more about being in a place that’s just right for both sides.”
Kupp’s contract expires in 2023, and the franchise has already expressed interest in wanting to hand him a new deal. The new deal should see a much bigger salary for the wide receiver.
