“Free my DAWG”: Cordarrelle Paterson wants Calvin Ridley free after Deshaun Watson verdict
Coderrelle Patterson Calvin Ridley Deshaun Watson
The Deshaun Watson saga seems far from over. Social media has been blowing up since Cleveland Browns Quarterback Deshaun Watson was handed a 6 game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy after the former Houston Texan had 24 sexual misconduct accusations against him following massage sessions.
The suspension in light of the accusations didn’t seem adequate to many. Specially if compared to some recent suspensions like DeAndre Hopkins who was suspended for 6 games after a trace amount of PEDs were found in his system which he claims he didn’t know he ingested and Atlanta Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended a whole season for making $1,500 in bets on games including his own team’s.
Cordarrelle Patterson appeals on Twitter to free Calvin Ridley after Deshaun Watson suspension
Cordarrelle Patterson is one of the many who responded to Watson’s suspension, his response-
The man also known as “Flash” asked for his fellow Falcon Calvin Ridley to be freed who is under suspension for the whole season and loses nearly $11 million in salary, while if the ruling stands Watson misses six games and will lose $333,000 in salary, a miniscule drop of his record $230 million guaranteed contract. Watson will lose none of his $44.9 million signing bonus.
In contrast Ridley’s suspension seems excess as he gambled on games over a five-day stretch in November 2021 when he was on the non-football injury list to address his mental health and was thus way from team’s facility during the time of the bet. All of this combined has the social media world enraged as other than Patterson many people chimed in on the matter-
Patterson’s appeal may have been heard by many but doesn’t look like it will help Ridley’s cause much.
