“What have I done to deserve this?” Cowboys boss Jerry Jones secretly wishes Dallas had some of Eagles’ luck after 10-1 start to the season
Jones said he finds it vexing to see teams like the Eagles win by one score point's.

Jerry Jones believes that the Dallas Cowboys could go places with a bit of “luck” on their side. To put weight behind his statement, the veteran owner and the general manager of the Cowboys pointed out that the Philadelphia Eagles have ridden their luck on occasion this season due to a few close-shaved results.
The Eagles are currently the top seed in the NFC with 10 wins and a solitary defeat (the New York Jets). Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys are 5th with 8 wins from their 11 games. One of the losses (28–23) came against the Eagles in Week 9. Jones’ comments came after Philadelphia won 37-34 in overtime against the Buffalo Bills last Monday.
While making his routine appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones spoke about his frustration that he doesn’t get the luck the other teams like Philadelphia have.
Jones said:
What have I done to deserve this? Why can't that ball bounce the right way? All of those things go through your mind.
The Eagles went 14-3 last season on their way to the Super Bowl (lost against the Kansas City Chiefs). Notably, the majority of the games they won were by a margin of one score or less. Coincidentally, they are just one game away from equaling that statistic in 2023 as well.
Jerry Jones doesn’t want to underestimate any opposing team
As football season transitions into the business end of the calendar, every game is a must-win for the teams that are looking to solidify their chances of playing post-season. The Eagles are strong favorites to finish first, judging by the form they are in. Nick Sirianni‘s side is on a 5-game win streak following the defeat at the hands of the Jets.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts is the favorite to win the NFL MVP. At times, he is the sole reason that the Eagles are such a dominant force. The 25-year-old wants the Super Bowl so bad that he keeps a picture of last year’s loss as the wallpaper on his mobile phone. However, the last few games will test their might as a championship-winning team.
It kicks off against the San Francisco 49ers next Monday, whom they beat in the 2022 NFC Championship game. Next will be a trip to AT&T to face the Dallas Cowboys for a rematch. Jones claimed that in these games, any team can win. He said:
You can play anybody out here and have the same opportunity to move up and move up closer to the playoff advantage because anybody can beat anybody.
It will be a difficult matchup for Philadelphia considering the ‘Americas Team’ has won their last 13 games in Arlington. Frankly enough, the last team to beat them was Tom Brady‘s Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the opening day of the 2022 season. On the other hand, Cowboys DaK Prescott is on a roll. He has been on par with Hurts in terms of output: 295 completions for 2935 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions in 11 games. According to PFF War, the two-time Pro Bowler is the NFL’s most valuable quarterback.
