The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers wild-card game has once again gained the spotlight. But this time it isn’t because of the Cowboys’ inabilities on the field or Jordan Love’s outings. It actually concerns a Cowboys cheerleader, who claimed to have been disrespected by the opponent’s players.

Darian Lassiter has gone viral over the internet after she came forward and called out Packers players for disrespecting her and the rest of her cheerleading squad during their wild-card game victory at AT&T Stadium.

Darian Lassiter, who has been a part of Cowboys Cheerleaders for five years now, claimed the Packers were shouting at Cowboys cheerleaders throughout the game, in the viral video that she posted on her TikTok account.

The cheerleader said in the video:

Y’all, the Cowboys versus Packers game last Sunday, I have never experienced such disrespect from the other team’s players to the cheerleaders in my five years as an NFL cheerleader. Like, we would literally be minding our own business and the Packers just scored a touchdown – this is just one example. They would come up to us standing on the sidelines, minding our own business, and start yelling at us.
Darian Lassiter said

As she described the whole incident, she added, “Sometimes it was this close,” using her hands close to her face, explaining how the Packers players did it. Lassiter called their behaviour, “unsportsmanlike conduct” arguing they couldn’t do it to the Cowboys players so they did it to the cheerleaders. 

Backing her story was another Cowboys cheerleader, Jensen Merrill, who wrote, “Literally was on the verge of tears,” in the comment section. 

How Darian Lassiter and other NFL cheerleaders have been demanding equal treatment for years

There has always been some sort of misfortune for the cheerleaders in the NFL. For the past few years, many cheerleaders have been wanting fair pay and equal treatment but they are afraid to speak out otherwise what happened to Buffalo Bills’ former cheerleading squad would happen to them also.

Back in 2014, the cheerleading squad of the Bills sued the franchise for unfair pay and poor work environment, after which they were all suspended and haven’t returned to the NFL. 

While sharing her story, Lassiter acknowledged how crucial playoffs are for every team in the league, but that doesn’t give them the right to respect anyone. Now that the Cowboys are out of the playoffs, she said she is rooting for every team except the Packers.
