Parsons argued that Prescott faces a lot of flak after losing in the post season which other quarterbacks don't.

Micah Parsons was looking for the opportunity to sit face-to-face with Stephen A. Smith and give him a piece of his mind about allegedly being too critical of Dak Prescott. The chance presented itself after the All-Star game in Indiana concluded, and the two sat down to chat.

Smith has always been a vocal critic of the Dallas Cowboys for quite some time. To a Cowboys fan, it may seem like he can get a bit harsh while talking about Prescott. Parsons, who time and again has come in defense of his quarterback, claimed that Smith, similar to various other analysts, prefers to be too critical about Prescott’s performances. Even more so when the Cowboys lose a game.

During the recent conversation on the special segment of the Stephen A. Smith show, Parsons pointed out,

You forget there's so much other factors out there.

Smith cut Parsons mid-sentence, saying Prescott isn’t a special case just because there’s a star on his helmet. Every other quarterback receives the same treatment.

[Did] we not do that to Patrick Mahomes? We ain't do that to Lamar Jackson? We ain't do that to Josh Allen.

But the Cowboys linebacker was adamant about his view. He rambled “not to the same extent” in conjunction with Smith’s rant. Then the veteran sports analyst sneakily chimed in, saying,

Hold it. You are implying that we are being too cruel with Dak Prescott?

Micah Parsons asserted that only winning the Super Bowl can be considered a successful season

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most successful franchises in the NFL. But what does success even mean for an NFL team? Parsons, while discussing Prescott’s excessive criticism, tried to draw attention to the fact that other quarterbacks have tasted success recently. He argued that besides Chief Patrick Mahomes, three Super Bowls can only be counted as successes.

Besides Patrick Mahomes, what other quarterback in the AFC has accomplished anything?

So by that logic, every other franchise remains too deep down in the pits of failure. Smith countered that it’s not true at all. He doubled down, saying players like Joe Burrow and Josh Allen have. Why? because they went further than Prescott in the postseason, who only has 2 wins in 7 attempts.

Burrow reached the Super Bowl in 2022, losing to the Chiefs. Allen has played in the AFC divisional round for four straight years, unlike Prescott, even though he has a longer CV. Parsons argued that all of them are in the same boat because they haven’t won the Super Bowl. For that reason, they should be treated in the same manner.

It doesn't matter how far you get. If you are going home and you don't have a ring, it doesn't matter.
Parsons insisted

So San Francisco 49ers winning a championship game before losing in the Super Bowl to the Chiefs and bowing out in the wildcards to the Cowboys is the same? But if that’s the norm, then the Detroit Lions making it to the NFC title game for the first time since 1994 and winning the NFC North doesn’t count as a successful year because they did not win the Super Bowl.
