Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was very angry over kicker Brett Maher’s consecutive misses for extra points during the team’s playoff game against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys totally dominated the Buccaneers in the first half and Prescott, who just had 1 playoff victory coming into this wildcard game, brought his ‘A’ game when the Cowboys needed the most.

In the first half, the Cowboys, led by Dak Prescott, orchestrated three perfect drives for touchdowns. Prescott had 2 touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown but to his dismay, kicker Brett Maher had a very rare off day. Ahead of this game, Maher had missed just 3 kicks all season and interestingly, he missed the same number of kicks against the Bucs which cost the Cowboys three points. They should’ve been 21-0 up going into halftime, but because of Maher, they were 18-0 up.

Prescott was agitated after Maher missed the third consecutive kick. He was playing so well and leading drives to perfection, but Maher’s display got into his head. He threw his helmet on the sidelines in rage after Maher missed the third kick and hurled curses. “Go for f***ing two,” he yelled towards Maher and the frustration was visible on his face.

To make things worse, Maher wasn’t done. Prescott led the Cowboys to another perfect drive at the start of the third quarter for a touchdown, but Maher, shockingly, once again missed the kick for an extra point. This was his 4th consecutive miss and for a guy who missed just three kicks all season, this was new territory. With 4 misses, Maher now holds the record for most extra-point misses in a game.

Fans on social media had mixed reactions to Prescott’s mini-breakdown. While many fans were pumped up to see Prescott fire up and show emotions, some believed that he shouldn’t show such wild emotions for his teammates and cited examples of his terrible interceptions. Fans argued that Maher never cursed him for his interceptions over the months and hence he has no right to call Maher’s bad day.
