“This game was meant for me,” Dak Prescott hyped up after the Cowboys’ huge victory against the Bucs
Dak Prescott knew the importance of the game and didn't get away from himself.

The Dallas Cowboys successfully managed to overcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ challenge as they defeated them 31-14 in the NFL Wild Card Round at the Raymond James Stadium. This is the first-ever loss for Tom Brady against the Cowboys, and much of the credit goes to quarterback Dak Prescott for that.
Prescott was amazing during the win and passed for over 300 yards with four touchdowns and, incredibly, with zero interceptions as well. Additionally, he recorded 24 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
In fact, in the post-match conference, Prescott was even asked whether he knew he’d be having a good game, to which he said yes! They had been preparing well for this game and had their plans set and it was all up to execution, which they did perfectly. “In a sense, yea,” said Prescott. “I knew by watching tape that this team was gonna be able to create matchups and what we’d be able to do.”
Dak Prescott accepts the quality of the 49ers and says they need to be on the get-go from the start
In some sense, Dak Prescott wasn’t at his best in the previous game against the Washington Commanders and he admitted that. Prescott said that he got greedy during that match and tried to force throws and went for glory, which is unlike what he has played throughout his career. However, against the Buccaneers, he knew the importance of the game and didn’t get away from himself.
“[In Washington], I got away from how I play this game — I got greedy,” Prescott said. “I tried to force some throws, take the big ones, and that’s not who I’ve been in my career. I [usually] take what they give me, waiting on the big shot, and [Washington] was uncharacteristic. So it was a way for me to just dial back in, but I wiped that clean because I knew what this game meant.”
Up next for the Dallas Cowboys stands the challenge of the San Francisco 49ers who have a formidable defense. However, Dak Prescott seems confident and says it’s important for them to have a grasp on the game right from the onset since the 49ers have been very consistent this season.
“You gotta start fast,” said Prescott. “Knowing the defense they have, the offense they have, they’re on fire. The longest win streak in the league. It’s important for us to start fast and get on top of them. I know the pass rush they have but I’m confident in the group that we have, and what we’re capable of doing.”
