Earlier this week, rumors were spreading around the league that the Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy‘s job might be in jeopardy if Dak Prescott led Dallas Cowboys faced a defeat against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in the wildcard game. However, the team owner Jerry Jones came out and assured that McCarthy’s job is safe even with a first-round exit in the NFL postseason.
Furthermore, their franchise quarterback Dak Prescott has come out and shown support for the 3rd year Cowboys HC saying that it’s comical to even think that his job was ever in jeopardy. “It’s comical,” Prescott said on Friday on the subject of coach Mike McCarthy being on the “hot seat.” “Back-to-back 12-win (seasons) in how long? And we’re talking about a guy’s job in jeopardy?”
Prescott further said that it just shows the pressure they face when they coach for an organization like the Cowboys. “That just shows you, when you play for this organization, what comes with it,” Prescott said about his well-renowned franchise. “That’s why it’s important to create these walls around us, create this safe place in our locker room. What matters is the men that go out there and get in between the lines and put the work in throughout the week for us to go out and win.”
Dak Prescott looks to hand Tom Brady his first loss against the Cowboys
The 12-5 Dallas Cowboys are going against the 8-9 Buccaneers in the wildcard game as road favorites and yet many experts around the league don’t believe in the Cowboys to pull off a victory against the Tampa Bay team.
The reason for that is the legendary quarterback Tom Brady as he boasts a neat 7-0 record against Jerry Jones’ team and now has a home-field advantage to make that 8-wins-and-0-losses.
The 45-year-old veteran QB’s season has been a nightmare but he and his Buccaneers somehow managed to clinch a playoff spot by conquering the NFC South division. Brady is third in the league’s passing yards category and has regained his lost chemistry with his teammate Mike Evans since they both connected for three TDs in a must-win game against the Carolina Panthers in week 18 of the NFL
And now, with a healthy receiving corps and a fairly tough defense, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to secure a win against the Cowboys in their journey for the 3rd Super Bowl ring in the franchise’s history.
