“The game developers are Dallas fans”: NFL fans BLAST EA Sports for overrating the Cowboys players in Madden 23

Dallas Cowboys players Madden Ratings

Another year is upon us and EA Sports has released yet another iteration of its flagship football game, Madden NFL 2023. This time of the year is pretty dry in the league as the offseason is done, training camp has almost begun and players are going about minding their own businesses and just playing ball. But when Madden comes out with its ratings for each player, every athlete wants to see how high they are rated.

This year as well, Madden released its ratings and as is the case with the ratings every year, some players are happy about their ratings while some are not. Dallas Cowboys fans in particular are extremely happy about their team’s ratings at least on paper. Going by the team’s ratings, they at least stand a chance to make and win the Super Bowl in a video game. Other fans across the league do not understand why the Cowboys have such high-rated players.

The highest-rated players in the Cowboys are Dak Prescott, who is rated 89 overall which seems apt for him, it could be argued that maybe it is high but it is not that big of a stretch from his real rating. For running backs, we have Ezekiel Elliott who is 88 overall which is surprising considering he did not even rank in the top 10 backs in the entire league last season.

Wideout CeeDee Lamb comes in at 85 while Michael Gallup is an 83. Tight end Dalton Schultz has a rating of 82. Coming to the linemen, Zack Martin is rated a stellar 98 making him the second-best lineman in the entire NFL. Tyron Smith comes in a couple of spots behind him with a well-deserved 95 rating. Take a look at some of the interesting reactions from NFL fans across!

In all likelihood, Jerry Jones volunteered to do this so that he gets more publicity, it is not too far a stretch to assume that.

Dustin Smith has made a lot of NFL players and fans unhappy for multiple seasons.

Absolutely, he deserves that rating.

Yes only on paper but come regular season and they begin to play like they are all rated in the mid-70s.

A rare W for the Dallas Cowboys.

Marketing moves.
