The Dallas Cowboys last won a Super Bowl 27 years ago. Since then, they have managed to reach the NFL Divisional Round seven times but have met with defeat every single time, and this season it was no different.
The San Francisco 49ers ousted the Dallas Cowboys 19-12 at the Levi’s Stadium as a horror record for the Cowboys continued in the playoffs. For their 80-year-old owner Jerry Jones, the disappointment continues to mount.
Players and coaching staff alike of the Cowboys felt like they had no energy to continue after another exit in the divisional stage. Tears and faces covered with disbelief were the trend in the locker room after the game.

Jerry Jones feels sick after defeat to the San Francisco 49ers
The Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cut a disappointed figure after the defeat and it seemed that he still hasn’t quite recovered from the shock of yet another playoff loss. While speaking to the media after the game, he continued to say that he felt ‘sick’ after a heartbreaking end to the season. “Sickening. Hundreds of thousands of Cowboys fans,” he said.
There have been a lot of questions about the future of the Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy as well as quarterback Dak Prescott. It was known that Jerry Jones would be facing questions about his belief in Prescott and McCarthy going forward but it seems that he is confident about them- “No, no, not at all,” Jerry Jones said when asked if he has doubts about McCarthy. “But this is very sickening.”
Quarterback Dak Prescott was particularly harsh about his performance in the game and admitted that he needed to be better, especially in a knockout game. Prescott seemed to be quite upset with his contributions and was gutted to not have contributed more having finished with 23-of-37 for 206 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions in addition to 22 rushing yards on four carries.
“Just two throws that I can’t have, you can’t have in the playoffs,” said Prescott. “You can’t have them when you’re trying to beat a team like that. You can’t have it on the road. There’s no excuses for that. Those two are 100 percent on me.“I’ve got to be better. There’s no other way to sugarcoat it.”
