The New York Jets seem all set to continue on their merry way of signing players this offseason. Former Minnesota Vikings right back Dalvin Cook has almost confirmed that he will be joining the Jets this offseason as he’s all set to visit their camp this week.
The 27-year-old revealed that veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers‘ presence in the New York Jets camp had a big role to play in his making his decision. Cook heaped praise on Rodgers, against whom he has squared off quite a few times during his career.
During his appearance on the Good Morning Football show, Cook said that he wants to be around Rodgers by signing with the Jets in a bid to pick his brain. Cook who is all set to enter into his prime years as a footballer also hoped that Rodgers will help him develop as a player.
Dalvin Cook’s signing will boost the Jets’ offensive stocks massively
“You always want to be around a great QB, you always want to be around somebody who you can pick his brain and learn from,” Cook said. “A-Rod is a four-time MVP. Just being around a guy like that, you can really learn a lot more and develop as a player.”
Dalvin Cook has arguably been one of the higher-producing running backs in the NFL over the past few seasons. He has recorded more than 1,100 rushing yards in the each of last four seasons along with scoring an equally impressive 48 touchdowns during the same period.
There have also been rumors in the NFL that Cook might visit the New England Patriots, but the possibility of that happening now seems very less at the moment. Jets head coach Robert Saleh has also confirmed Dalvin Cook’s impending visit to the camp.
The Jets have already roped in a number of quality players during the offseason, as they look to mount a challenge for the Super Bowl title. If Cook does sign for the New York Jets, he won’t be the first player to be allured into the franchise by Aaron Rodgers’ charm. The Jets have signed a number of former Green Bay Packers players, in the form of Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Adrian Amos all of whom joined New York shortly after the arrival of the 39-year-old quarterback.
