NBA stars had fun on Halloween night dressing up in costumes. In that trend, the Phoenix Suns’ shooting guard Damion Lee embraced the Halloween spirit by dressing up as an injured Aaron Rodgers ahead of their game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, which did not well with the NFL fans on social media.
Ahead of the Suns-Spurs game, Damion Lee showed up to the Footprint Center with crutches while wearing Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets jersey with a football in his hand. He also added a “Jets playbook” in his costume to complete the ensemble. Many people got mad over Lee dressing up as the injured Rodgers.

But he was simply being creative in selecting his Halloween costume. Lee, recently underwent meniscus repair surgery for his right knee, after suffering a knee injury at the Suns’ practice before the 2023-24 season started. He has been ruled out indefinitely by the Phoenix-based football team. And now, Lee, who is in rehab, got creative and dressed up as an injured Rodgers on Halloween night.
Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury back in week 1 of the 2023 NFL season during the opening drive of his much-anticipated Jets debut. He was initially ruled out for the entire season, but the 39-year-old has made a surprising progress on his recovery.
Recently, the Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas said that they are expecting to have Rodgers back before the end of this season. But, as of now, there is still no timetable available for his return to the field.
Apart from Lee, some other NBA stars also got in the Halloween spirit on Tuesday. The Spurs’ rookie Victor Wembanyama embraced his slender body and dressed up as the internet meme-turned-movie character Slenderman. On the sporting side of things, the Spurs managed to secure their second victory of the season by defeating the Suns 115-114 in a close game.
Social media not happy with Damion Lee dressed up as an injured Aaron Rodgers
NFL fans on social media were not impressed by the Suns’ shooting guard Damion Lee dressing up as an injured Aaron Rodgers on Tuesday night. Some fans pointed out that Lee — who is currently an injured player himself — just got creative with his Halloween costume.

But most football fans didn’t know the context and bashed the NBA star. Check out some of the reactions attached below.
Anyhow, the 4-time league MVP Rodgers is making quick progress in his recovery. But, for now, the Jets continue their season without him. In his absence, Zach Wilson took over the starting QB role and has led the New York-based football team to a solid 4-3 record, including an impressive victory over the defending NFC Champions Philadelphia Eagles.
